Scope: Performed a 12.2 mile 115kV transmission line construction project in an environmentally sensitive coastal salt marsh.
Location: Brunswick, Georgia

Client: Georgia Transmission Corporation

In service of the Coastal Electric Cooperatives service area, the project connected two radial transmission systems (Burnt Church and Tradeport) in Bryan and Liberty counties. In observance of the projects environmental sensitivity, Irby adapted a construction solution whereby poles were set by an Erikson S-64 Aircrane helicopter to minimize the impact to marshland ecosystems.

Completed on time and within strict environmental parameters, the project exemplified Irby’s capability to plan and execute novel technical solutions to the highest standards of environmental best practice.
