Duke Energy is one of the largest electric power holding companies in the United States, providing electricity to 7.7 million retail customers in six states. In December 2018, Duke Energy contracted Irby to perform the removal and reconstruction of 34 miles of 230kV transmission line from Port St. Joe to Callaway in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael.

The work scope was completed ahead of schedule in March 2019 with no injuries or environmental incidents with the assistance of several key subcontractors including Aldridge Electric, A&J Steel, HeliService Powerline Solutions, FireHawk Helicopters, ROW Masters, Probst Electric, and Thomasson Company.
