Irby Construction Company
Irby Construction Company, A Wholly Owned Subsidiary of Quanta Services, Inc., excels in the processes required for major transmission, substation and distribution line construction and has demonstrated that ability with successful projects.
Before there were bucket trucks and digital blueprints, there were Irby crews stringing wire across rural America, lighting up the country one line at a time.
When the Rural Electrification Administration (REA) opened up new frontiers in the late 1940s, Irby was right there with them. We helped build some of the earliest distribution lines in the nation, then grew into transmission work that pushed the limits of what was possible. Then, in 1969, Irby completed the first 765kV power line built in the United States.
Eight decades later, that same commitment, curiosity, and passion for the work haven't changed.
