Tamara has been working in the field for six years, five of those being at Irby Construction. During that time, she's had the opportunity to work her way up from apprentice to foreman and now to her current role as a unit writer. ![]()

As a woman in construction, especially in the power delivery industry, Tamara is passionate about breaking down barriers and showing that there’s a place for everyone in this field. She's had the privilege of working alongside incredible linemen on impactful projects like FPL’s Underground Lateral Hardening, the Parrish Battery Plant, Lockheed Martin URD Feeder Relocation, and numerous emergency power restoration efforts. ![]()

Tamara says that each project has not only been a valuable learning experience but also an opportunity to collaborate with talented professionals in the field. Tynesha has been with Irby for three years, and says "...it has been the absolute best challenge that I have taken on." ![]()

Tynesha is a claims manager but told us her role does not end there. Any way that she can assist her peers and co-workers, she is willing to jump in. Tynesha remarked that her "... position at Irby aligns perfectly with who I am because I take pride in helping others and engaging with customers daily brings me joy."![]()

To date the memory that sticks with Tynesha the most while working at Irby is during and after Hurricane Ian. It severely impacted homes in her area, and seeing how quickly Team Irby was able to jump in and take action to assist as many customers as possible and bring back hope felt like a breath of fresh air. She said that "...this is what it is all about, making meaningful impacts along the way."![]()

Tynesha notes that "...here at Irby, we are a family!" From day one, she was taken in with open arms. For these reasons along with many more, she considers Irby to be the best company that she has worked with thus far, as she sees so much opportunity to grow within the company.![]()

Amanda started working for Irby in 2012 after graduating from LSU with a degree in Construction Management. Moving to Mississippi and working on powerline construction were "...two big changes from what she was used to, one harder to catch on to than the other", she told us.![]()

Amanda started out as an Operations Assistant working for Horace Amason and the Texas region. She said that Irby has been a great company to work for, and she has learned from so many people here.![]()
